Biography
A four piece located in Melbourne Australia, Motherslug take influences from proto-doom, merging it with up-tempo stoner and down-tuned drone Motherslug make a unique cacophony of megalithic proportions.
Motherslug first hit the stage in Feb 2012 at the Cherry bar and released their eponymous EP at Gasometer in December of the same year. It received unanimously favourable reviews from bloggers around the world such as The Obelisk (US) - “feels like coming home”; Temple of Perdition (France) - “quickly catches attention and respect”. On April Fools Day 2014 Motherslug released their double A side single Three Kings In Darkness and toured Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Regan Batley joined the 'slug in April 2015 to form the 'classic' line up that you see today. Regan's exceptional guitar playing skill has elevated the band to new heights of musical composition, power and intricacy.
On Halloween of 2017 Motherslug released their first full length album The Electric Dunes of Titan. It received great reviews and rocketed onto the Doom Charts peaking at #3 right behind Electric Wizard and stayed on the charts for three months.
